As a part of Phase II of UREC’s expansion and redesign project, UREC is happy to announce that the UREC Field Complex located at the corner of River Rd. and Gourrier Ave. is now open and ready for use! Fields will be available for drop-in recreation use, in addition to fields that will be utilized for Intramural Sports and Sport Club contests.
Who’s ready to play a game of tennis or two on UREC’s brand new tennis courts?! UREC is excited to announce the opening of 9 new tennis courts at the Student Recreation Complex, in addition to the opening of the new UREC 2-hour parking lot.
UREC couldn’t be more excited to be just days away from another semester here on the LSU campus! As the semester begins, UREC Director Laurie Braden gives an update of the UREC expansion and redesign project.
UREC is happy to announce the anticipated opening of the new 2 hour lot and the (9) tennis courts on Monday, August 18, 2014. The opening of the area is contingent upon the contractor’s completion of a few items that need to be completed before access is granted. Please continue to check the webpage for up-to-the-minute information regarding this.
The addition of the two-hour parking lot and (9) new tennis courts to the current Student Recreation Complex has really started to take shape and we are seeing an eventual conclusion to this project in the near future. Once complete, this site will add some of the features that LSU students have asked for as a part of the overall renovation and expansion.

Even with the weather limitations of the winter, great progress on the River Road Field Complex has been made. From dugouts, to backstops, to bermuda grass growing, check out the progress of the project.
