Laurie Braden, LSU UREC Executive Director

Happy Holiday Fellow Tigers!

With finals beginning this week, I wanted to encourage all of you to get in 30 minutes of physical activity each day.  The science shows that this movement will increase your cognitive ability to synthesize and learn information and then recall this information when you are taking exams.  It is a simple formula for success in the classroom and in life.

If you still have not used your UREC facility, I urge you to come in during finals week to get moving or even use one of our many study spaces.  If you are unable to make it to UREC, make sure you still get some form of physical activity in during exams.

When you return from the winter break, UREC will welcome you back with a huge celebration to kickoff the Spring 2019 semester.  Make sure to mark Tuesday, January 15 2019 from 6pm – 9pm on your calendar.  There will be for free food while it lasts, free t-shirts, prizes, and fun events. Look for additional communication on this in January.  You will not want to miss this party!

We will also have a fresh slate of Spring 2019 programs for you when you return in January. Intramural Sports, free GroupX Classes, Adventure Trips all over the great state of Louisiana, small group training opportunities, and much more.  Make sure to check out the website for everything that is available to you.

We wish you all the best of luck on your finals as we all wrap up a wonderful semester and you head into a well-deserved break.

On behalf of the UREC Team,

Laurie Braden
